Learn about the Hope of Christmas:
God created people to know and enjoy Him. Sin fractured our relationship with God. God knew sin would ravage lives – so God promised hope. (Genesis 1; Genesis 3:15; Romans 3:23)
Across many centuries, God promised One who would come as a child, be born of a virgin, born in Bethlehem, to ultimately redeem as Savior, care as Shepherd, and reign as Messiah. (Deuteronomy 18:15; 2 Samuel 7:14; Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6-7, Micah 5:2-5a)
God fulfilled His promise by sending His Son Jesus. He was born of a virgin, born in Bethlehem, born as Savior, Shepherd, and Messiah. (Luke 1:31-33; Luke 2:1-7; 2 Corinthians 1:20; Galatians 4:4-5; Hebrews 4:15)
Hope promised would soon become hope accomplished. Jesus, fully man and fully God, lived in absolute perfection. In love, Jesus died for our sins. Jesus was buried. In power, Jesus rose from the dead. Hope is accomplished. (Romans 5:8; Ephesians 1:7-10; 1 Corinthians 15:3-5)
Receive Jesus as Savior and Lord through faith. Turn from your sin, trust in Jesus – the Promised Messiah, the fulfillment of God’s promise of forgiveness and hope. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Peter 1:3-5)
